I’ve heard a lot about Sri Lanka, the beauty of the land, the lovely people and the good surf spots but it took a while to head south east to the country formerly know as Ceylon. Mid December we jumped on an Aeroflot plane towards Moscow, after a very interesting 5hr stopover it was time to enter another Russian airways plane to head to Colombo, Sri Lanka. At the airport … Continue reading
Today I went down to the beach to catch up with my mate Mario Rodwald for a first autumn session. It got quite breezy after a while and I switched from the kite to the camera. The light was perfect and Mario was on fire on his own kiteboard brand KOLD shapes
After years of just riding a surfboard for kitesurfing I got a new twintip in my hands. My friend Mario Rodwald just launched his own kiteboard brand KOLD shapes. For me it’s the perfect board, because I suffered with some knee issues in the past and most of the boards I tried where too stiff and after a while in bumpy waters I felt a little pain. In April 2018 I flew for the first time to Costa Rica to check what it’s all about. The beauty and kindness of the people is just amazing and I’ll come back for sure. Here are some impressions from our surf trip…

The Extreme Sailing Series™ is in Hamburg, Germany right now for their 5th event of the 2017 season. All teams are fighting against the tricky conditions including very light winds, lots of rain and a big current on the river Elbe.
Due to Famous Frank I had the chance to get on board of HUGU BOSS, the Open 60 from Alex Thomson Racing. Few weeks ago Alex was on a promotion tour in the Baltic sea and had a stopover on the beautiful Island of Sylt in the North Sea on his way back home to the UK. So we jumped in the car and onto the train to meet Alex … Continue reading
Summer is just over here in Europe, for me it’s finally time to post some pics from the last surf trip. I always travel so far to explore beautiful countries and oceans, but we got some epic stuff here as well. So on the last trip we ended up in Hossegor, France at the atlantic coastline. Hossegor is also known for Europe’s surf capital. Check out the pics and you … Continue reading
Holliday time = surfing time. I had some weeks off and did a little roady on NZ’s North Island. Piha, Ahipara and Raglan where on the menue. First stop was a little place called Piha, it’s just 40 minutes out of Auckland on the westcoast. Good surfing beach with lefts and rights which can get quiet big with lots of current. The surf was good but the lodge where fully … Continue reading
